OUR HISTORY

The Agricultural Development Organization (ADO) is a local NGO that was established in 1993 in Burao, Somaliland. Initially, ADO focused on relief and rehabilitation efforts aimed at assisting the returnee population who suffered the destruction of their homes and livelihoods during the civil war in the 1980s. However, over time, ADO expanded its activities to encompass early recovery and development initiatives.
In 2023, the Agricultural Development Organization (ADO) made a strategic decision to expand its operations to rest of Somalia. As part of this expansion, ADO successfully obtained registration from the Federal Government of Somalia, allowing it to operate within the country’s jurisdiction.
